YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive cross-functional, multidisciplinary projects that serve to broaden discussion within scientific spaces (academic institutions, conferences, publications, etc.) and work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams to cultivate understanding, increase dialogue, and amplify positive messages around sustainability, food systems, policy, regulations, and public acceptance of agricultural innovations
- Lead strategic outreach projects related to new technologies, scientific integrity, trust in science and/or science communication
- Build relationships with multidisciplinary audiences and stakeholders to reinforce positive messaging about BCS and our portfolio of products; conduct outreach to science-based audiences, academic and regulatory stakeholders, and key social scientists. This position will involve giving media interviews; developing policy briefs; improving the company’s social media footprint & engagement; and constructing internal messaging strategies.
- Develop, and implement internal & external scientific communication programs on including writing company positions on agricultural innovations, including pesticides and GMOs and new agricultural technologies
- Represent the company in key science and industry associations and at conferences, workshops or other public events involving diverse audiences & stakeholders
- Further grow and increase visibility of Bayer's global scientific community, through interaction with the Bayer science fellow network and dedicated initiatives, while closely coordinating with Corporate R&D on likeminded initiatives
- Develop, implement, and support social media strategy for key Regulatory leaders
WHO YOU ARE
- University degree with long term relevant experience in science, communications, or public affairs
- Demonstrated abilities in developing strategies and managing projects at global levels
- Understanding of regulatory science safety testing, compliance, and submission and registration processes in various jurisdictions
- Strong communication, analytical and influencing skills, including the ability to bring scientific knowledge into societal context
- Strong outreach and advocacy experience
- Experience developing & maintaining external stakeholder relationships.
- Established social media presence and is well-versed in navigating associated platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
The successful candidate may be based in Germany: North Rhine Westphalia : Monheim; or United States: Missouri: Chesterfield.
